Reason For Chile VS Venezuela Betting Tips
Chile will be looking at this as an absolute must-win game. They are currently in 6th place in the standings, which wouldn’t even be good enough for a play-off place but are within 3 points of 2nd place Uruguay, so could make some serious headway by racking up the win here. There is little about Venezuela that suggests they won’t be able to do that.
Having won back-to-back Copa America’s, Chile are undoubtedly a side of genuine quality and they demonstrated that for long periods against Argentina last week and were very unlucky to lose the game. A similar level of performance should be far too good for Venezuela and Chile are further boosted by the return from suspension of key midfielder Arturo Vidal. He has an excellent goal-scoring record at international level and netted twice in Venezuela earlier in the campaign so could make a real difference here and backing Arturo Vidal to score anytime could be worth a bet.
Chile are a naturally attacking side and will look to take the game to their opponents from the off so we should see a fairly open game but one the hosts should dominate. Inconsistency has been an issue throughout this campaign, but at times they’ve played some excellent attacking football, particularly in Santiago. They’ve scored at least once in all of their last 17 home World Cup qualifiers and average exactly 2 goals per home game during this campaign, which is impressive when you consider they’ve already hosted all of the current top four sides.
They also scored 4 in the reverse fixture, when a poor Venezuela defence was badly exposed. Venezuela have nothing left to play for other than pride and their away record in this campaign has been abysmal. They’ve only picked up 1 point on their travels and have conceded twice or more in every away game. They do have a goal in them though and their average of 1.23 goals per game during this campaign is better than 3 other sides including Argentina, while they’ve scored as many goals as Colombia.
Chile aren’t totally convincing at the back so an away goal can’t be ruled out and a high-scoring game looks likely. The hosts should have too much quality though and backing Chile to Win & Over 3.5 Goals at 6/5 looks to offer value.
