France VS Spain Predictions

Full Time: 0 - 2

Both Team To Score Tip: YES

Reason For France VS Spain Betting Tips

France looked confident and in control when they visited Luxembourg this weekend, with Olivier Giroud netting either side of an Antoine Griezmann penalty as they beat the hosts 3-1 to remain at the top of their World Cup qualifying group.

This makes it 18 games unbeaten for France in normal time, with their 1-0 extra time defeat to Portugal being their only negative result in the Euro 2016 Final. They have drawn away to Switzerland and Belarus in this time and at home to Ivory Coast, but the other 14 games have all ended in victory.

France are now in an excellent position to top their World Cup qualifying group, sitting three points clear of Sweden at the halfway point and six points clear of their perceived biggest challengers Holland.

Spain aren’t doing too badly either after the era of Vicente del Bosque came to an end last summer. New boss Julen Lopetegui beat Belgium in his first match in charge and has since won four and drawn two of their games. The two draws came away to Italy and England, whilst they have comprehensively beaten Liechtenstein, Albania, Macedonia, and Israel.

Their hosting of Israel at the weekend saw David Silva get yet another Spain goal, whilst Diego Costa, Vitolo, and Isco all got on the score-sheet in their 4-1 win as well. This puts them top of their group, but they’re only ahead of 2nd placed Italy on goal difference at the moment.

Both of these teams possess immense attacking capabilities. France have failed to score at home just once in their last 16 home games, but they have only kept seven clean sheets in this period and that includes matches against a lot of lowly teams.

Spain have netted in eight of their last nine on the road, but I can’t see them keeping France’s attack at bay. I think odds of 10/11 for Both Teams to Score look good value, so I’m backing that alongside a 2-2 correct score predictions at 14/1.

Antoine Griezmann is who I’m backing for our anytime goalscorer predictions at 13/8. The Atletico Madrid forward netted a penalty against Luxembourg and has scored nine goals in 16 appearances for France since the start of Euro 2016.

Head To Head

Spain have won four, drawn one, and lost two of their last seven meetings with France.

France VS Spain Stats

France have scored in 94% of their last 16 home games, conceding in 56% of them. Spain have scored in 89% of their last nine on the road.
