Reason For Adelaide United VS Newcastle Jets Betting Tips
Adelaide United sank to a new low last Friday as they were demolished 5-0 at home to Perth Glory, extending their winless streak to four games in the Hyundai A League and leaving them rock bottom of the table with an eight point gap between them and 9th placed Central Coast Mariners.
This is awful timing for them, as due to their status as current champions of Australia they are about to embark on their Asian Champions League campaign next week, starting with a hosting of Gamba Osaka.
Considering their recent performances the chances are slim that they will get very far in that competition. They have won one, drawn two, and lost seven of their last ten games in all competitions, and even at home they have lost six of their ten games this season.
Newcastle Jets aren’t exactly setting the league alight, but they do sit just inside the A-League playoff zone in 6th position. Western Sydney Wanderers are only below them on goal difference though, and a defeat on Friday could see them end the weekend in 9th depending on other results.
Last time out they did manage to hold off 2nd placed Melbourne Victory with a goalless draw, and they have won four, drawn three, and lost three of their last 11 games in all competitions. This is an excellent run of form considering they had lost five of their six games in the build up to this period.
Away from home they do lose quite a few games, but they have also managed to win two of their last five on the road so will feel like they’re in with a good shout of getting something from the dismal Adelaide United.
Neither of these teams are particularly reliable going forward, so backing goals for this one could easily backfire considering the short odds. Instead I think there’s a lot of value in backing Newcastle Jets to win at 19/10, so I’m going for that alongside a 2-1 correct score predictions at 9/1.
