Reason For Brazil VS Colombia Betting Tips
This fixture is a fundraiser for the victims of the Chapecoense plane crash disaster that occurred last month. The money raised from the event will be donated to the families of those affected, as well as helping to rebuild the football club. Unfortunately only around 5000 tickets have been sold for the game, which will ake place at the Estadio Nilton Santos, the stadium which played host to the Olympic games last year. However it should still be a very special event for the few surviving members of the team, as well as everyone else affected by the tragedy.
Recent form and head to head history are pretty much irrelevant in this fixture, as very few of the players that would usually feature in either side’s competitive games will be available for this fixture. This is because of the obvious clash between the game and the fixture list for players playing in European leagues. The Brazilian national team co-ordinator Edu Gaspar said “We will work with the players of Brazilian teams so as not to embarrass a club or player that has to deny the call because of a championship being in progress”. As a result of this, a lot of players who would usually not get a chance to shine at international level will have a platform to display their talents.
Brazil’s side will include one major shock, namely ex-Real Madrid and Man City star Robinho taking to the field. He is eligible for the game as he now plies his trade for Brazilian outfit Atletico Miniero. The only other largely recognisable name in the side is Diego, the attacking midfielder who played for Werder Bremen, Juventus and Wolfsburg amongst other top European sides. He was always known for his goal-scoring exploits, scoring an incredible 38 goals in just 84 games for Werder Bremen.
Colombia’s side will likely be much weaker than Brazil’s, with the strength of their league being much poorer in comparison. Only one Colombian side feature in the top 20 of the CONMEBOL club rankings, namely Atletico Nacional. Whereas 7 Brazilian sides feature in the top 20, Cruziero being the highest placed side at 4th. Argentinian giants Boca Juniors and River Plate, as well as Uruguay’s Penarol make up the top 3.
Brazil look the clear favourites to win this game, playing on home soil and being likely to field the much stronger side. For that reason, we are backing Brazil to Win at [awaiting price] and expecting a high-scoring affair, predicting a correct score of 3-1 to Brazil at [awaiting odds]
