Reason For Fiorentina VS Torino Betting Tips

Monday night sees a clash between eighth and ninth in the Serie A table, with hosts Fiorentina who’re desperate for a result. Their manager Paulo Sousa is under serious pressure, after their collapse in the Europa League in midweek. They went from 3-0 up on aggregate to out of the competition in little over 45 minutes, after a 4-2 defeat at home to Borussia Monchengladbach. Winning the first leg 1-0 and then falling apart only makes things look worse for Sousa, who is being tipped to leave in the summer, if not sooner. The fact that Claudio Ranieri is available might speed up his exit.

Torino boss Sinisa Mihajlovic has seen his side fall away in their push for Europe, so he can’t rest easy ahead of this game. On the face of it, this is a meeting of two mid-table underachievers who have little left to play for. While that doesn’t seem all that interesting, these are two outfits who really struggle defensively. They are both pretty clinical going forward, so we should get a really entertaining game at the Artemio Franchi.

The Viola have scored two or more in eight of their last nine home games, as is Sousa blessed with some impressive attacking talent. Nikola Kalinic and Federico Bernardeschi have 21 goals between them this season in Serie A, and they’ve been stand out performers for Fiorentina. That’s contributed to them scoring two or more in their last six home league games. However, two clean sheets in 13 Serie A matches points to their problems at the back. They’ve conceded 14 times in their last seven matches in all competitions, which gives Torino an excellent chance going forward.

Giving Torino opportunities isn’t a smart move, as they’ve scored more goals than any side outside of the top three. They average 1.84 goals per game in the league this season, with their fantastic trio up front causing problems. Breakout star Andrea Belotti has 17 Serie A goals, and he’s flanked by Adem Ljajic and Iago Falque, who have 16 goals between them. While those three are delivering, their defence isn’t. They’ve conceded at least three goals on five occasions already, including shipping four at Roma last weekend.

The visitors concede close to two goals per game on their travels, while they’ve let in two or more goals in five of their last seven outings. Unsurprisingly that’s seen them involved in plenty of high scoring matches this season, with three or more goals in 64% of their Serie A games. Fiorentina have seen over 2.5 goals scored in their last nine in the league, and that should continue against this Torino side.

Five of their last six encounters have seen both teams score, while neither of these two look like they’ll stop after scoring once. That’s why we’re backing over 2.5 goals and both teams to score, which is priced at 20/21 with bet365. Given their awful defending of late, and their potent attacking line up, we can see a thrilling game between these two on Monday. We’re also backing a 2-2 draw, which is 11/1 with bet365.

Head To Head

Three of the last six encounters between these two sides have finished level.
