Reason For Perth Glory VS WS Wanderers Betting Tips
When Perth Glory won just three of their opening 13 Hyundai A-League matches this season many of their fans were expecting a disappointing campaign from them, but they look to have turned it around at the moment and find themselves in a rather promising position.
Their 2-2 draw with Brisbane Roar last weekend makes it four wins, four draws, and just one defeat from their last nine games in the A-League, and it puts them inside the playoff zone with a seven point cushion before dropping out of the top six. In addition to this they are only two points adrift of 3rd placed Melbourne City, and whilst any hopes of the Premiership title have gone, with Sydney FC’s dominance, the hosts will be feeling good about a very respectable finishing position.
Perth Glory have now won four of their last seven games, and at home they have picked up three wins and a draw from their last four outings. Despite back to back defeats at home in December they have gained a reputation for being ruthless in attack at the nib Stadium. They have scored an impressive 21 goals in their ten home games this season, but they have conceded 18 at the other end and kept just one clean sheet.
Western Sydney Wanderers showed their defensive flaws in midweek as they were battered 4-0 at home to Urawa Reds in the Asian Champions League, taking their recent record to three wins and three defeats in their last six outings. This may not look the most impressive, but they will be pleased with their progress after enduring a six match winless streak prior to this.
This last lifted them into the playoff zone in the A-League, but they only have a three point lead over Newcastle Jets below them. They would move to within a point of Perth Glory with a win over them on Saturday though.
Western Sydney Wanderers have only won one of their last six away days in the A-League though, drawing three times and losing twice. They have scored in all but three of their trips away this season, but have kept just one clean sheet and conceded a total of 14 goals on the road.
Perth Glory’s excellent attacking play is down to their lethal front three of Adam Taggart, Andy Keogh, and Diego Castro. The three have 27 league goals between them, but it’s Taggart who is proving to be the main danger man. The 23 year old has scored ten in his 15 appearances this season and seven of them have come in his eight games at home. His goal last weekend makes it five home games on the bounce that he has netted in, so backing him to score anytime at 7/5 looks the best value bet for Saturday. I’m also going for a 2-1 win for the hosts at 8/1 for my correct score predictions.
