Rochdale VS Port Vale Predictions
Rochdale Over 1.5 Team Goals
Reason For Rochdale VS Port Vale Betting Tips
It seems a long time ago that Rochdale appeared to be almost guaranteed a play-off place. In recent weeks Keith Hill’s team have plummeted somewhat and now find themselves in 10th spot, having failed to win any of their last seven in the league. However, they face a Port Vale side who’ve been simply abysmal on the road this season and this could be the perfect opportunity to return to winning ways.
Rather than backing the hosts to win, the bet that catches the eye here is ‘Rochdale to Score Over 1.5 Goals’. They might not be in great from, but the hosts have re-found their scoring touch in recent matches and, coupled with their excellent goal record at home, can continue to find the net against a poor Port Vale side.
On their own patch, Rochdale are among the highest scoring teams in the division. With 31 goals to their name, only two teams in League One have scored more goals. They managed to notch three in their last home match and have scored at least twice in ten of their matches at Spotland overall this season.
Playing away from home has yielded very little joy for Port Vale this season. They’ve won just once on the road, losing nine of their other 14. Scoring goals has been a major problem for the visitors with just nine scored but, unsurprisingly, keeping them out has also been a problem. Their total of 28 isn’t as bad as some teams, but it’s certainly not good. In their 15 matches away from Vale Park, Michael Brown’s side have conceded at least twice on nine occasions – not exactly a record to be proud of, that’s for sure.
With two games in hand on some of the teams around them, Rochdale could still challenge for the play-offs if they get their act together. This fixture gives them an excellent opportunity to get back to winning ways and they’re fancied to do just that having scored at least two goals.
