Both Team To Score Tip: YES

Reason For Wigan VS Nottingham Betting Tips

This is a really big game for Wigan. Victory would most likely see them climb out of the drop-zone and they’d also haul a number of clubs, including Forest, deeper into the relegation scrap. However, with just one win in 11 Championship home games coming into this, that’s far from guaranteed but what does look likely here is a few goals.

That’s not always been the case at the DW Stadium this term, but it certainly has been the theme of things for Forest. Both teams have scored in 67% of their Championship matches this term and that includes all of the last four. Forest have conceded 10 goals in their last 3 matches alone and their average of 1.76 goals per game conceded is the 2nd worst in the division.

To put their problems into some perspective, they’ve let in 58 goals now and rock bottom Rotherham are the only other side in the league to have conceded 50 or more. Forest do have a genuine goal threat though and they should be capable of asking a few questions of this Wigan defence.

The Latics have really improved since the turn of the year and they certainly look to have a bit more of an attacking threat after a very busy transfer window of comings and goings. They still haven’t managed to put a real run together to pull themselves out of the relegation places but 3 wins and 3 defeats from their last 8 is still a significant improvement.

The capture of Omar Bogle has given them a bit more presence up front. The former Grimsby man has scored 3 goals in 6 appearances for his new club and netted from the spot in midweek at QPR. You can back a confident Bogle to score anytime at 15/8, which looks a decent bet given Forest’s multiple defensive issues.

Wigan games have been a bit higher-scoring in general of late and with Forest in town that trend should continue here, so backing Both Teams to Score at 5/6 looks like it offers value.
